Korčula
July 13 & 14
Setting sail from Vis, we knew we had a long trip ahead of us. Geoff told us it was a seven hour sail, with a swim stop or two to break things up. As we got out of the harbor, it was clear a storm was coming and the wind was picking up big time. Geoff wanted to try to get ahead of the storm, so we powered through the big waves with the motor. Our sunshade's zipper broke from the wind, so we had to strap it down and hold on. The waves definitely had me feeling almost as rough as the sea, but I didn't get sick! After a couple of hours, the water really calmed down and we got far enough ahead of the storm that the rest of the ride was enjoyable. We decided to skip our swim spots to get into port sooner, and I was really glad we did because that meant we had time to shower and get ready to explore Korčula.
Rootfop cocktail spot
Documenting everything really wears a girl out!
We took a cab to the Old Town, which is pictured above with the two big towers. At the top of one of those towers was a cocktail bar that required climbing a ladder into a very narrow hole in the ceiling to get to the top. But we got there right at sunset, and it was such a cool place!
After drinks, we found a kebab place <3 <3 <3 and even though it wasn't a typical kebab because they were low on ingredients, it was still exactly what we needed. Then we walked around the Old Town and checked out some shops before heading back to the boat.
The next morning we had a photo shoot with our captain hats, then had a swim stop outside a monastery, where we spent a lot of time swimming, paddleboarding, floating, exploring and singing!
